Barbara Doyen loves authors and books from many angles: as an avid reader, author and literary agent. As a child, she idolized book authors while her peers were in awe of movie actors or rock stars. So it’s not surprising that she became a publishing professional in adulthood, working daily with authors and books.

Now in her third decade as a literary agent representing authors in the sales of their work to publishers, Doyen has handled many kinds of books, from illustrated childrens’ board and picture books through teen and adult fiction and nonfiction. Now specializing in adult trade nonfiction, her agency, Doyen Literary Services, Inc., is known for its fine authors who deliver excellent content to deadline.

Barbara has authored many instructional materials for writers, including published articles, books and an audiotape series that was endorsed by James Michener. Her Write To $ell® seminars have helped many beginning and experienced authors to further their writing careers.
